James P. Eastman who is known under his stage name, "J. Artiste" (Formerly known as Lyrically iLLz) is a New York City - based Hip-Hop recording artist, songwriter and record producer. He was raised in Jamaica Queens, NY and has gained strong recognition for his cover to B.o.B's hit song "Airplanes - ft. Hayley Williams", which grew viral on YouTube hitting roughly 500,000 views/ downloads in one week before taken down due to copyright purposes. James was born into a family of talent. His grandmother was Mifaunwy Shunatona Hines, the very first Ms. Congeniality and Native American to be crowned Ms. Oklahoma. She was also the founder of the AICH (American Indian Community House) in New York City. His grandfather was Willard C. Hines who was an artist, co-founder of the AICH and a World War 2 veteran. James wears his grandfathers original dog tags on him frequently in honor of Willard. The name J. Artiste derives from his grandfather's signature stamped on all of his paintings "Willartiste". He is currently partnered with ANCHOREDTalentGroup©.

J. Artiste has performed locally and across the country - as well as been featured on projects internationally from the U.K., Spain and Saudi Arabia. He has also contributed his music as the opening act for performances by Talib Kweli and Kellee Maize at the "San Diego Indie Fest 8" and has collaborated with YouTube star and philanthropist, Prince EA. His style is best described as poetic lyricism, who can switch up flows to deliver strong and relatable messages - connecting through his music while maintaining a commercial sound.
